The number one goal of any training session

An absolute fact of physiology is that training needs to be accumulated over time for any meaningful adaptation to occur. This applies to any goal that any individual may have.

Consistency over long periods of time therefore becomes a critical determinant of success.

Some things can get in the way of consistency; the main one being injury, which can have the knock on effect of killing motivation.

Practically this means taking steps to avoid injury such as not being fixed to a rigid plan and adapting exercises and sessions as the body needs. It means training hard when you can and regenerating the body when you need. It also means investing in building a strong and resilient body that can handle the demands of whatever you throw at it.

That is why my number one goal for any training session is to be able to train tomorrow.
